Well, I do follow the LJ coms, but I end up being waaaaay more likely to read stuff when it is posted on people's personal journals, especially DW ones... plus the cross-posting spamming thing usually ends up being more along the lines of "oh yeah, I saw that and wanted to read it, but forgot the first time, now I'll open it up right away so I read it for sure" rather than any kind of, "oh gods, already saw that once, why am I seeing it again" kind of thing.
