Funnily enough, this is set around that time (2005/6/7 - the Waterstones closed not that long afterwards and the Harlequin in general went downhill, obviously because I left the area), so some of it might be reminiscent! Nando'ses weren't very widespread at the time, since they were still mostly in North West London and its environs, rather than ubiquitous like they are now, which is a bit of trivia that's not wholly relevant to the fic...
