Me too! :D The line about the artichokes originally came earlier (before I'd realised everyone was going to get so sad), and I surprised myself with how many vestiges it had of your Illyria's not liking of anything - so when I needed something that summed up Illyria's crashing realisation of her place in the world I decided to move it somewhere more prominent. On top of that, I always like riffing off fanon anyway, but with Buffy and Illyria there isn't nearly enough to work with. I assumed you wouldn't mind a little bit of intertext...
(I want to give the dragon a hug - it was supposed to be comic! Larger than life and providing Buffy and Blue with a troll-in-HP-type amusing anecdote that would draw them together! Everyone collectively rebelled.)
