Two highly unrelated things.
Re the election: voting is done, now for the waiting in probable misery. It's strange how utterly depressing it is to find out that there's a BNP candidate for my home constituency. D:
Re the Buffy comic: god forbid I'm one of those kind of fans, but, um, I think I may developing a soft spot for Spike's STEAMPUNK SPACESHIP OF DOOM:

Because no matter how horrifically awful and depressing and placenta-monsters (*weeps*) the rest of it is, someone somewhere decided that if Spike could rock up to an apocalypse without any budget or common-sense constraints, he'd do it in a steampunk spaceship of doom. Which CRACKS ME UP.
Sure, his character's about to be assassinated, he has tiny hands and a weird Claire's Accessories wristband, but there's months to go until we have to care about that. And, obviously, it will never be explained where he got the money or the inclination to build something so ridiculous, but I kind of want the fic now. ("Yeah, love, no - I'm waiting for a shipment of plate brass - it's going to be bloody brilliant!" "Spike, um, you do remember you're plans tend to go kinda... Wrong?" "Nah, nah, I just need a few months. You carry on in Thailand; I'll be ready with the big guns." "Spike, I said I needed back-up, not -" "But the Wolfram and Hart cash might run for a laser cannon!" "... Fine, build your stupid dream machine. I'll be digging.")
