As usual when I am this miserable about the world, I wrote to my MP. Unfortunately, putting everything down (concisely but probably not coherently or comprehensively) in an email just made me more upset. So there we go.

To be quite honest, [Mr. MP], I am fed up, miserable and feel utterly helpless to change anything. I think you are a very good MP, but frankly I don't know why I expect you to change anything either. Everything I hear from Westminster comes across another concession to the rich, to private business, to the anti-choice lobby, the anti-gay lobby - while massive protest is ignored, minor protest is ignored, petitions are ignored, groups of professionals are ignored, unions are absolutely demonised. No one I know is happy with the way this country is being run, and they certainly aren't happy with David Cameron's poshboy Etonian clique, and yet most of us are doing absolutely nothing because it has been made clear over and over again that there is no legitimate way to complain in a manner that will get the message listened to rather than ridiculed.
I expect a reply from him, because he generally does reply, but he's not a big name by any means, so I basically think he has fuck all influence.

I think I'm going to start emailing my MP too, even though I think he's shit.
He doesn't even have a constituency surgery in the town. You can only contact him by email. I'm pretty sure any reply I get will be some stock central office bollocks.
I miss our old MP. At least she actually lived here.
