DW Invite Codes
19 August 2010 18:49I was (randomly?) sent seven Dreamwidth invite codes today - and it turns out that I have a bushel of nine unused ones. So, if anyone would like one, all I need is your email! Feel free to snag one for a back up/extra journal, friends who don't technically 'know' me, your pet fish, whatever! I'd love to bring nine new people over here.
Things I like about DW:
I don't particularly hate LiveJournal and I don't particularly love DW by comparison (exciting things are meant to be coming at some point, so this may change, but for now I find it reasonably comfortable to use, but not whizz-bang fantastic - indeed, I'm even a bit worried about the coming changes to update page), but I have liked moving to a two-platform journal through DW, so, hey, if you join up it'll be even better!
Things I like about DW:
- Moar people. It's not that DW has actually more people than LJ, not by a long shot - but there are different people, sometimes, and definitely more of a culture of 'I saw your post on Latest Things and just popped in to say...'. I like that sort of thing!
- Moar comms. Again it's not so much that there are 'more' comms, but now I've found things like
queerlygen (essentially inactive on LJ) and
fandomcalendar (non-existent on LJ) I certainly wouldn't want to give them up. - Decent crossposting. One of my reasons for liking DW as a secondary journaling service is that it makes it very, very easy. I like posting from here and it's essentially like having an online back-up of my entries, fic (usually) and all that stuff.
