The Fag Ends Anniversary Party is still going, people. I have a few things I will try and edit up (/embellish???) to bring over at some point, but I was occupied rather a lot this week by the saga of my desire to make a video, specifically for the Depeche Mode B-Side Fools, because bogwitch prompted it (obviously), and I have been annoyed about not having made a video for ages. Long story short, when I replaced my laptop with a PC a few years ago, the ancient version of Windows Movie Maker stopped working with any file types apart from .wmv, and it was basically impossible to get any footage into it (and so far my attempts to try and find other software to make videos has been a complete disaster; for some reason I love WMM). However! After Windows 10 made me lose everything, and I had to find the CyberLink DVD player through a random menu, I discovered there was some CyberLink movie-making software on my computer, which was useless for everything APART FROM turning ripped .mkv DVD files into high quality .wmv files. And so I was saved!!

Of course, I then decided I wanted to make a Angel S5 Spuffy reunion vid, because I have wanted to make an AU vid for ages. So there was this whole business with downloading some dodgy version of The Grudge dubbed into Hindi and playing about with that and then deciding to invest a whole £1.27 in a DVD to make everything look nice, so then I had to wait for that to turn up. But now it's here!!! It is rather necessary to just go with the idea that LA and Tokyo basically look the same.

Do be careful if you have photosensitive epilepsy, as I would always say with any of my vids. As Hyperdub used to say about Burial tracks before you bought them, also, the glitches are part of the effect. ;)

Yep, it's another one of those days where I pretend to be in Final Fantasy fandom - IX particularly today and my favourite little character Vivi. You may have seen the FFIX black mages on my beloved icon made by becbet, but here is the true star in an electro video. I should apologise that there are rogue credits over some of the clips, but I really wanted to use shots from the game's opening sequence and I couldn't find a good way of getting the credits out of view. Grr!

Since I am nothing if not predictable, this contains jerky music, jerky cuts, spinning things and flashing lights. PG content-wise, probably.

Oh, and if you want to live the dream (and reassure yourself that some of the black mages break their programming, you can always just enjoy a nice bit of the game. :) )

It was my seasonal_spuffy day yesterday, which turned out to be a rather extreme output of my last few month's creative energies... But still, Remix and the Free For All day are on the horizon!! (And sb_fag_ends is still running...!)

First of all I had a fic - a post-DMP crossover with AtS just post-Loyalty, featuring a strung-out Wesley, an Angel doped up on baby-love and a long-suffering Lorne. ~25,000 words, rated R for reasonably explicit sex and quite a lot of swearing, AO3 warning free.

I also had a vid, which was an experiment with John Cage's 4'33''. I might as well re-embed it here...

TL;DR: This vid is strange, but you can hopefully still watch it with the sound off. It comes with a free poem...? Warnings for discrete flashes and a lot of juddery cutting. Otherwise it's fairly gloomy in mood, but with nothing more ratings-worthy than a rat. And those strangely made-up cuts on Spike's chest from Lessons. If you feel like it, I'd recommend watching with the lights off and in HD / having downloaded the file.

I love Darla and I love AtS S2 - though sometimes I fear not for the reasons that were intended. (Anyone who has the (mis?)fortune to watch Redefinition with me can attest to the hysterics I descend into when watching Angel chat about how he 'isn't ready' and do his silly little pull ups...) There are, however, certain things that irk me - the end of The Trial for one, when Darla might as well be playing Angel's wank fantasy of a saved maiden. That's not the story I see at all!

I haven't been writing very much recently (mostly because of being busy, but also, I fear, because I'm a little burnt out on the written word for the moment - it'll recover in time, I'm sure!), but I've had a lot of fun putting together another fanvid - for FFVIII!! Specifically about Rinoa.
