Thanks! It's so nice to know that you're enjoying this - and especially that you like Anne (I like Anne). It was really nice to take time over things, or at least spread the fic out to encompass more than Spike and Buffy, since I spend my life in their POVs.
And, yeah, languages are haaard! I think there are things people can pick up fairly quickly, like interpreting tone and general positivity or negativity, but going from having a vocabulary that just about works to being able to fully understand a native speaker, especially in an unfamiliar accent, takes time.
