Oh, jeez. I love Kate SO FREAKING MUCH in this. I love how she just doesn't take it any guff from some dude in kevlar, and refuses to let Buffy take any, either. Mentorship: how it is done.
It's just lovely how Riley does his hero thing, Sam does her capable Mrs. Spy thing, but it doesn't have the same sting, just because Kate is there being skeptical, and because Buffy is thinking of Spike as MORE...even if she hasn't quite sussed out more of what, exactly. It's a beautiful thing. (I like the Willow/Sam thing, here. It was funny on the show, but it's just as funny and sweet here.)
