DUDE!!!
Man, that was fab. Are we supposed to think that was Caroline at the end there, because I can’t think back far enough. I’m not sure it was though - I think Alpha’s last mission came with a just-as-psychotic girlfriend and we’ve met our new Spike and Dru (or more like Angelus and Darla, maybe).
Oh, but the play on Sleeping Beauty (with the princess creating the prince) makes me think that maybe Evil!Echo has the power in the relationship and things are only going to get fabber.
Paul is such a stupid git. "They’re not people"; the way he dumps November for ’Caroline’ like some big pillock-faced idiot. The way he trusts Alpha, who plays on stereotype and takes Topher’s personality so wonderfully without even using the chair (I loved that Ballard tasered Topher the moment they showed up - with the casting spoiler it was a wonderful way of confirming that ’Topher’ wasn’t walking where we thought he was). And yet they don’t know what to do with him - I think DeWitt was bluffing with the chair, but maybe not. They’ve already used it as a punishment once, but that was for someone inside the house. Perhaps that line seems blurry now.
I was utterly stunned by Enver Djokaj’s version of Dominic. It was perfect. Clearly the audition process for him and Dichen Lachman involved some sort of test of character-copying, because they’re both so wonderful. And Dominic’s reaction to waking up in Victor was chilling - that scream where it seemed like he was literally trying to jump out of his skin. *shivers*
The ’mole’ was totes Alpha (working for Evil!Echo), setting up the situation to get his girlfriend back. Ballard was the Briar Rose prince, dreamt up and created by them both, led to enough places that the Dollhouse constructed a life for him that would lead him to Alpha and then to Evil!Echo.
I want to have deep and meaningful things to say, but I’m mostly just bobbing up and down with the squee. How can anyone cancel this series??
ETA: Eee!! Trailer for Omega!! All right, so maybe Evil!Echo won’t have the power, but the personality melt-down horror looks so good.
