Had a pretty good day today - didn't do much of anything and then went out for tea with my family to a place with tasty food and raspberry mojito aperitifs. Presents were a bit slim pickings because I couldn't make up my mind what I wanted, but that was sort of as expected. (My dad of course took this as a cue to fill in the gap between a couple of books, a Vogue as something to unwrap and my brother's mostly-a-joke tenner with a phenomenally inappropriate and most definitely unsolicited ring - o hai, I don't even like jewellery, do you even know me at all? - which can hopefully either be returned or given over to my mum's custody. Mum and I are going on holiday for a few days next week, which is basically my present, but I'll probably be able to call in a few bits and bobs as they turn up...) Thanks everyone for the well wishes!
However! I also have actual content! I finally got round to making a DW crosspost footer (ta daa, she says, hoping it appears) and I'm struck by the rather fanatical belief that it should be possible to produce one that appears on DW as well about LJ - or at least provides a link to the LJ version of the post. There's clearly a connection made somewhere between the posts on the two platforms, because otherwise how would DW route edits after posts have been posted? But I have no idea where that information would be stored, how to access it and how to print it. I assume you could do something in the S2 customisation to the print_entry function, but it's been years since I messed around with S2 and I don't even have a paid account anywhere, so it may well have to be a pipe dream. Just thought I'd mention it because it was in my head, and in case anyone with a far higher proficiency in all things DW knows a dead simple way of doing it.

Oh, now this is LOVE (and something I did not know) - back in the days of my LJ paid account I had a great time tweaking Component to get square corners and more prominent friendcolours and all the rest of it (though I was forever thwarted in my attempt to make my self-adapted/designed skin-changer to be sticky as people navigated). I am currently content with my layout, but that the possibility is there...

So, if you have questions about the ZOMG REVAMPED CORE2,
http://www.dreamwidth.org/customize/advanced/layersource?id=550&fmt=html
The new S2 core2 at Dreamwidth has modules built in, for instance.
There are some notes on the default CSS classes for S2's main base, Tabula Rasa, here:
http://wiki.dwscoalition.org/notes/S2_CSS
And most of them are applicable to the other styles, too (which is what lets my expand/collapse/hide Greasemonkey work).
