Thanks for the tinfoil hats! They are keeping me safe from both aliens and the wedding. (Though I think the old Bleep-Bridge Bubble may have helped as well. :P ) I plan to use them as boats forthwith.

ION apparently there's been massive rioting centred around a Tesco in Bristol? I hadn't heard about it until today, but it seems strange and a little scary. Not to mention the US tornadoes. Keep safe, world!

It's locals fighting the opening of yet another small branch - Tesco is trying to take over the universe.

Tesco, sadly, comes in all forms - from Tesco Extra (big warehouse-type thing with everything from food to washing machines to clothes), to normal Tesco (big food supermarket) to Tesco Local (little high street supermarket). They do petrol and insurance and everything and generally suck, if only because their doughnuts aren't as nice as Sainsbury's.

Sounds like they will have apartments for you to live in so that you never have to leave and can spend all your money all the time. Although, if there are better doughnuts available elsewhere, who would want to?

The Tesco riot is the second - according to someone I know in Bristol it's being sold as way more violent and subversive than it was, though.

Cheers for the video - it still sounds like fairly scary stuff. We were chatting about it at lunch time, and the general sense seems to be that there's been a slightly increased police presence here in town, which you'd think wouldn't actually feel as mildly threatening as it possibly could. (There was a whole incident during some fees/cuts protests where the police got heavy handed and chased people into college, basically forcing their way in even after the porters told them they didn't want the police in there. College looks fairly open during the day, but it is private property and I have a very strong sense of the front gate being the front door to my home (generally after coming home too often the early hours of the morning and counting it as the place where I stopped having to stress about being in the street), so with that, on top of things like this, on top of all the stories from the demos, is getting to be quite unnerving.)
