New Sherlock
2 January 2012 17:55Was far, far better than I was expecting it to be. (I liked the first of the last series, didn't much like the second, thought the third was so-so.) It was excellent, in fact. If we do not get more Irene Adler I will feel cheated in the extreme. So there!

Date: 02/01/2012 22:21 (UTC)Yeah, I'm slightly worried about this. But I'm hoping that the Hound of the Baskervilles can't be quite the same level of 'we can update our technology, but the racial stereotypes are here to stay!' as last time. In a perfect world they'd have forced Moffat to write all three episodes, or at least hassle Gatiss towards something slightly less than clunky.
As for the ending, it didn't really bother me/I didn't really notice it. It wasn't anything like when Sarah in The Blind Banker failed to save herself from an inanimate object in favour of sitting around looking petrified. I was expecting her to save herself, but I don't think it particularly ruined the representation of her character that Sherlock did - she'd already stitched him up a few times, after all (even if he did then save himself, she still screwed Mycroft over). And her making the terrorists wait while she sent a text was just amusing.
